Projects Underway at Evergreen ...
Additional information will be posted as it becomes available.
Since 2003, we've built new washroom facilities, a Welcome Centre (which houses our offices), nine RV sites and a new Challenge Course.
We praise God that the Welcome Centre, RV sites and Challenge Course were all built debt-free! Now we face new infrastructure challenges.
To address them we're initiating a series of three, interconnected capital campaigns that you'll be hearing lots more about in the coming months and years! Our Cabin Fever! project is the first of these campaigns.
- Cabin Fever!
We're in the process of replacing our cabins. For updates, please check
our blog, or you can read the Cabin Fever! newsletters we've posted on the Cabin Fever! page. If you're interested in donating to this project, please give us a call.
- Meeting Rooms Re-boot
After replacing the roof on the Meeting Rooms this summer, our next step is to replace the floors. We like to call the Meeting Rooms our heritage buildings because they housed our original chapel, kitchen and dining hall back in the 1960s. If you're interested in donating to this project, please give us a call.
Please contact the camp at main@camp-evergreen.com or 403.638.4230 if you would like more information.
Previously Completed Projects
- RV Sites (2009) Our nine, new RV sites are up and running! Special thanks to Harley Berg and Roland Dueck. Want to plug in your RV next time you come out to Evergreen? Just let us know!
- Challenge Course Challenge (2008) Your faithful and generous support allowed us to build an amazing Challenge Course, with upper and lower elements and a zipline, in 2008. The course came in just under $50,000 and, praise God!, every penny of it came in through your donations and the Challenge Course was built entirely debt-free. The Challenge Course is a huge hit with our summer campers and with our Guest Groups. It's an amazing tool for teaching kids about team work and encouraging self confidence. Thank you so much for making our Challenge Course happen!
- Brown House (2008) A dedicated team of volunteers beautifully renovated the basement of the "Brown House", so it's complete with a kitchen, dormitory style rooms and a two-shower, two-toilet, two-sink bathroom. Our female seasonal staff were able to move in to the basement of Brown House in Spring 2008.
- Welcome Centre (2007) Our new administration building, the Welcome Centre, opened its doors in Spring 2007. It's the hub for all administration and planning, a home for board meetings and we're able to use the Welcome Centre to receive and (fittingly) welcome our guest groups and summer campers!
- Outdoor Washrooms (2003) A large new washroom building with handicap access and full laundry facilities was constructed in 2003.
