Partner with Camp Evergreen and support the dream of Christian camping
Here is a current list of practical ways Camp Evergreen needs your help!
We will be updating this list as needs are met and as they arise.
CURRENT NEEDS
List Updated October 2011
The following list contains many of the bigger ticket items that we\'ve incorporated into our 2011/12 budget. Without your help, we won\'t be able to to complete these projects. Whether it\'s a financial donation, a new microwave delivered to our doorstep, or your expertise as an electrician, plumber or otherwise, your partnership with us is more valuable than we can express! If you have questions about any of the items on this list, please feel free to call the camp office at 403.638.4230 and ask for Kerry.
| Item | Approximate Value | Details |
| Housing |
| Septic Lift Station (Staff Side) | $3,000 | |
| ATCO Trailer – 12 Month Lease | $12,000 | Finding additional housing for our spring, summer and fall staff is still an objective we need to meet! In the 2010 spring-fall season, we were blessed with a loaned GNS Trailer unit that was able to house eight staff members. It was so useful! We need a permanent option though as our current seasonal staff housing location, the Brown House, has space for just 12 -- and we have far more than 12 seasonal staff in spring and summer. |
| Brown Trailer – Replace Furnace | $500 | |
| Special Projects |
| Cabins | | Call us at 403.638.4230 to find out more about our Cabin Fever! Project! |
| Activity Sites |
| Challenge Course / Climbing Wall – Gravel & Woodchips | $1,000 | Gravel & woodchips serve both safety and aesthetic purposes at the Challenge Course and climbing wall. |
| Activity Centre |
| Furnace Replacement | $1,600 | |
| Upright Freezer | $600 | We're looking for a new freezer for the Tuck Shop, for freezies and drumsticks and creamsicles. |
| Lodge |
| Lodge Furnaces | $20,144.25 | We need to replace the furnaces in the lodge: they're on next-to-last legs. We would like to replace them proactively, so a breakdown doesn't mean we have to shut down while groups are here. |
| Kitchen – Hot Beverage Container | $260 | |
| Barn & Farm |
| Replacement – Wind Fencing | $1,500 | |
| Water & Power for Livestock Watering | $1,500 | |
| Reseeding Hayfield | $4,000 | |
| Horses | $3000 | We would like to add at least two trail ready horses to our herd. |
| Helmets x6 | $600 | |
| Saddles x5 | $4000 | We need to replace at least 5 saddles, at $800 each. |
| Fencing Projects | $3,000 | |
| Miscellaneous |
| Maintenance – 2” Portable Pump | $300 | |
| Replacement of Display Panels | $2,500 | Our promotions display, which we take to churches and conventions, is sorely out of date and after four years on the road, it's also not in great condition any more. |
| Tuck Shop – Conversion of Nurses' Station | $5000 | |
FUTURE NEEDS

| Archery – Pole Shelter for Shooter Coverage | $2,000 | |
| Barn & Farm |
| Farm – Ongoing reseeding | $4,000 | |

| Facilities |
| Meeting Rooms – Windows | $4,000 | We\'re in the process of renovating and updating our Meeting Rooms -- one part of this project is replace the windows, especially those to the back of the building, which leak heat like crazy. |

| Walk-in Freezer | $5,000 | |
| Kitchen – Floor Replacement | $20,000 | |
| Kitchen – Sneezeguards | $1,200 | |
RECENTLY MET NEEDS
List Updated April 2011
Thank you for supporting us!
| Item | Approximate Value | Details |
|
| Hot Water Boiler in the Lodge | $5,000.00 | The new hot water boiler was installed at the end of March, 2011.
Funds Donated: December 2010 and January 2011 |
| Saddles | $1,200.00 | Thank you for your generous responses to our February 2011 Friends of Evergreen letter! |
| Bale Feeders | $2000 | |
| New Sign for Camp Driveway | $500 | Thank you to the Beutlers! Check out our new driveway sign! Check out our new driveway sign!
Funds Donated: September 2010 |
| KitchenAid Commercial Stand Mixer | $575 | Amazing! For Sparks&Explorers2, four campers brought their grandparents along as volunteers. The grandparents then gave us a FANTASTIC gift: a brand new, super fancy and super functional Commercial Stand Mixer. We are THRILLED!
Funds Donated: August 2010 |
| Finishing or Ride-on Mower | $2,400 | Thanks to Peter & Elfrieda Reimer. Peter has also volunteered most of his summer 2010 to sit on the new, grey&orange mower, and take care of our fields and pathways! We're so grateful!
Funds Donated: July 2010 |
| Generator – Watershed Backup | $900 | We received a used-but-still-in-great-condition generator for our camp side watershed in June, from a family in Saskatchewan. That means we'll have water even when the power goes out for hours on end – thank God!
Funds Donated: June 2010 |
| Bathroom in Brown House | $1000 | Seriously a miracle! A small group from Dalhousie Community Church in Calgary donated the supplies and their time to replace the upstairs bathroom in the Brown House – so it now has a working shower (thank God!) and a new toilet, sink and cupboards that aren't falling to pieces!
Funds Donated: March 2010 |
| Scanner | $500 | We were gifted with a colour scanner – and it's making our lives a whole lot easier!
Funds Donated: Fall 2009 |
| Septic Tank for Two-Story House; Sewer Pump | $1000 | After several winters of frozen septic pipes coming from the two-story house, we had a septic tank and sewer pump donated in fall 2009, which Dave has been able to install.
Funds Donated: Fall 2009 |
| Mini-Van | $9,000 | A 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan was purchased by the Camp in August 2009.
Funds Donated: Summer 2009 |
| Gator | $6,000 | A group of our friends in Linden were able to provide us with a new gator this summer to replace the ailing Dakota. Thank you!
Funds Donated: Summer 2009 |
| Aluminium Canoes x 4 | $1,500 | We've been trying to replace our fibreglass canoes, which don't hold up as well when running aground in our small pond. Aluminium canoes don't wear through as easier and are sturdier for the kind of canoeing that happens at Camp Evergreen. We've had four aluminium canoes donated by two donors since March 2009! Thank you!
Funds Donated: Spring and Summer 2009 |
| Horses | $800-$1400 | Two donors have come forward this summer with gentle horses we can add to our trail line.
Funds Donated: Summer 2009 |
| Auto-Belays for the Climbing Wall | $2,000 | Thank you to our donor who purchased three auto-belays for our climbing wall. Auto-belays help us put more kids and adults up and down the climbing wall, as safely as possible, with short waits and fewer staff!
Funds Donated: Spring 2009 |
| Sound System | $6,500 | The majority of the system, including speakers, a sound board, and cords have been donated by The Gathering out of Edmonton – thank you!
Funds Donated: Christmas 2008 |
