Camp Evergreen's ARISE (Cabin Leader Training) program is designed to encourage campers to grow in relationship with Jesus Christ, while developing their leadership skills, with particular emphasis on the camp setting. ARISE is focused on discipleship and embracing a passion to serve God and serve others!
So, campers, you want to learn how to be a Cabin Leader at Evergreen, huh? Those of us who have been here long enough know that Sparkies grow up to become staff. And that's why we are so passionate about the ARISE Program. Watching you grow into a person after God's own heart and into a passionate leader is a huge privilege. Your three ARISE weeks will be packed full of intense team building challenges, sessions on cabin leading how-tos, God-time, and hours to just relax ... enjoy the sun, and chat with a couple good friends!
You'll experience cabin leading alongside some of our experienced staff and you'll take on a service project. In past years, we've painted the bleachers at the rodeo grounds and Sundre's playgrounds. Never mind the fact that we were head-to-toe paint by the end of it. This year ... who knows what we might try. We can guarantee an up close and personal look at Evergreen's one and only dish pit.
ARISE to have your relationship with Christ stretched and challenged. Grow as a Christ-like leader and a team player, take a serious look at your passions and interests, and learn how to use them to impact your world. There will be late nights, early mornings and long days. There will be days when you feel like you're in over your head ... but that's what happens when you jump in with both feet. We can't wait to see what God is going to teach us together this summer.
To register for ARISE, please submit an online application. Once we've received your initial application, we'll email you with a secondary - but essential - application that includes questions about you, your faith and what you're looking for in the ARISE program. You'll also need to find some folks who know you well and can fill out reference forms. Your spot in ARISE will not be confirmed until we've received the completed secondary application.
