Cabin Fever!

Our Cabin Fever is Complete!  With the help of many trades, volunteers and Mennonite Disaster Service we are now using all ten of our new cabins.  What a blessing to house our campers in solid, beautifully constucted cabins.  These cabins will be a great asset as we continue to build our winter guest group season as they are well insulated and will be toasty warm in the coldest weather.

Thanks to all our churches and donors who have taken the Cabin Fever project from a dream in 2008 to completion in spring 2013.  A special thanks to Kevin Thiessen and Kurt Shellborn for their extra effort in pushing the cabins through to completion.

 

 

We have decided to dedicate these 10 new cabins to our founding and supporting Churches which we feel will leave an important legacy of the foundation that has been laid for Camp Evergreen since it was founded in 1963. The cabins will be named after 10 churches:

Coaldale Cottage Coaldale MB Church Progress: Completed			Vaux-Hollow Vauxhall MB Church Progress: Completed
Gem Abode Gem MB Church Progress: Completed			Crestwood Chalet Crestwood MB Church, Medicine Hat Progress: Completed
Highland House Highland MB Church, Calgary Progress: Completed			Dalhousie Den Dalhousie Community Church, Calgary Progress: Completed
Sunwest Sunwest Christian Fellowship, Calgary Progress: Completed			Riverwest River West Christian Church, Edmonton Progress: Completed

These churches will also be permanently honoured and recognized with a plaque inside the cabin that gives some history about the church.

Each cabin will cost $55,000 to build, for a total of $550,000. Thanks to your generous donations, we have raised almost $380,000 to date!

Although the project is finished we will still be accepting donations until our Cabin Fever debt is retired.

We'd like to acknowledge the Government of Alberta, through its Community Spirit Program, for providing us with a $25,000 grant for the Cabin Fever! project in 2011, and another grant in the amount of $10,855 in 2013.
