CE Young Rider’s Club

The CE Young Rider’s Club is designed to teach riders of all ages how to care for, train, and ride a horse all while having fun. The focus of these lessons is to improved horsemanship skills while both riding the horse and while on the ground. These skills would be established through hands-on learning provided in small teaching groups and practical application.

Lesson Information

This 4 week program has been approved by our provincial health inspector and is for riders ages 6 and up. There will be four age groups that you can register for and within those groups riders will be separated into smaller riding teams based on their experience if necessary. The four age groups are as follows:

  • Shetland (Ages 6-9 with a parent participating with them)
  • Quarter Horse (Ages 10-12)
  • Thoroughbred (Ages 13-16)
  • Clydesdale (Ages 17-99)...YES! Adults can take lessons too!

*Please note that these are not the type of horse you’ll be riding, simply the name of each group*

The lessons provided will involve safety around horses, how to catch, groom, and saddle a horse, basic groundwork, and theory work. All of these lessons will be done in small groups and take place in an open-air environment.

Location

The lessons will take place at the barn and on the surrounding fields and trails. Parents are asked to park in the main parking lot and walk their kids down to the barn. We ask that parents remain close by during their child’s lesson in case we need to get a hold of you. Sadly you cannot enter the barn area during lessons to ensure proper physical distancing.
